Dangerous Jobs

Firefighters face serious risks on the job such as

Poor locals were greedy and foreign investors just short sighted.

Making money out of tourism has always been a mirage for both locals and visitors

I have seen part of the Costa Blanca being destroyed by tourist industry opportunities.

I regret to see almond and olive fields turned into new neighbourhoods or even towns.

Vast green areas disappeared to make room for a range of accommodation, entertainment facilities, and golf courses.

Local agriculture yield space to luxury accommodation for over rich Scandinavian or Russian owners who spend short time in their properties or realtors who just assess the profit of their business and ignore the loss of local food production and availability.

The fauna that could be seen or heard in those areas has, of course, vanish, or become extinct due to the disappearing of the migration stations.

Now crowds nudge to get a place near the shore on the beach, a nice view, a cold drink, or a ride in the mechanical attractions.

Water is only possible to obtain thanks to desalination plants, which happens to be a great deal more expensive than rainwater. The latter cannot be expected where 9 stories buildings have replaced forests.

Nobody seems to enjoy watching e masses of people, like you, doing the same kind of dull activities all around.

Whatever that used to call visitors' attention in the past, does no longer exist. Local habits and cultural difference have disappeared due to some Western consumerist social model.

A halt was necessary twenty years ago. Reversion, although difficult, is the only solution to both the environment and industry.
