Journalists go out to the streets to explore and report what is happening.

 They can face violence and intimidation for exercising their fundamental right to freedom of expression. The range of threats they are confronted to include murder, kidnapping, hostage-taking, offline and online harassment, intimidation, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detention and torture.

Unfortunately, in this profession, the stories covered may result in kidnapping, assault and even death.

• Moving objects.
• Slips, trips, and falls. Scaffolding. Hazard: When scaffolds are not erected or used properly, fall hazards can occur.
• Noise.
• Hand arm vibration syndrome.
• Material and manual handling.
• Collapsing trenches.
• Asbestos.

Additionally, they frequently come into contact with high levels of carbon monoxide and other toxic hazards. With these dangerous exposures, this line of work presents a likelihood for many diseases.
